Almost like a vacation

This week was Doug's vacation, so instead of vacation we went to Ohiopyle, which is a national park or whatever. There was a waterfall...
Not the most attractive photo, but we had to prove we had actually been there...

These were called "natural waterslides," basically people sliding down the creek bed and trying not to hit their head on a sharp boulder and die.  It probably shouldn't be legal any more, but it is and so we did it!

This is just an egg I am proud of. Saw a picture on the internet of an egg cooked into a bell pepper slice and this is how it turned out!  Actually Doug made it, but I stood by with helpful commentary.

I already miss Jodi! I am really sad about her going back to college. :(

In other news, yesterday was Lizzy's birthday!  Aside from all the fun she and Luke had, we all went to a drive in movie theater and watched The Campaign.  It was very fun and I was nostalgic for the simpler times (you know, my childhood growing up in the 1950s in rural PA).  The Campaign was a comedy about the absurdity of our political campaigns and was kind of depressing.  Oh well! Drive ins!

  1. Love the pictures and update! The egg was impressive. We must get to Ohiopyle. I keep hearing how nice it is! Glad you enjoyed nature whilst NOT hitting your head on a sharp rock and being rushed to the emergency room, etc.
