Hi everyone,
Got back into Pittsburgh last night after a much less eventful return journey. Jodi had been taking care of the apartment for us and she and Helen were waiting to say a quick hello when we got back.
Luke went back to work this morning, poor man, whereas I got to sleep off a bit of the jetlag. Feeling quite homesick today and putting off doing the mountain of holiday laundry, and writing to yinz instead.
We have a bit of news about our house situation to share. After the inspection we found out that there were some major structural issues with the house (rotting support beams leading to sloping floor), which the seller is in denial about and won't fix or renegotiate the price of the house. SO we've decided to walk away from that one. We hadn't built it up to be the dream house or anything but I am a bit sad because I'd started to mentally prepare for living there. The good news is the next few weeks will not be as crazy as they might have been AND we get to look at houses again!
I'm starting work (fulltime) on Monday which is exciting and scary, too. I hope I'll like it, I think I will. Oh, and Monday is Luke's birthday, lest ye forget!
