Hi everybody!
It's been an exciting couple of days. After more hiccups than we had ever thought possible, we got our mortgage approved on Wednesday morning, and then as if in a whirlwind, we were closing at 3.30 the next day!
At the closing, we met the seller's mom. She was very nice and we got a feel of the sort of cool kid her daughter must be. The seller got an undergraduate degree in architecture and a masters in graphic design, and now works for some big company in Boston. You can definitely see her cool style in the way she had things setup when she lived there.
And then after signing about 300 pieces of paper, and forgetting the date more times than necessary, we had a key and were singing happily in the car, zooming off to 401 Venture St!
We met up with Kathryn later on and enjoyed a glass of champagne with her while she said all the nice things about what a cute place it is.
We have met quite a few neighbors so far, next door on one side is a retired couple, the man is a former police officer who immediately suggested we borrow all his tools. The ladies across the street shout Hi to us and said that they won't help us lift boxes up the steps :)
Tomorrow (Saturday) we'll be packing up the house and then renting a U-Haul and moving things on Sunday.

ReplyDeleteA lovely story--we can picture it all (though, as has been noted, there ARE no pictures. Hmmmm.) You communicate well! I hope your descriptions about the hazards of chemicals can be as delightful to read.:)
